Montgomery County Emergency Assistance (MCEA) will be having the MCEA Annual Duck Race on July 4, 2013. This event is the premier fundraising event and the funding is critical to the programs that assist Montgomery County residents experiencing an unexpected crisis. The race will be held during The Woodlands Annual Splash Day with over 2500 people in attendance.
The ducks race down the chutes at the waterpark for prizes. Ducks may be adopted at several locations and festivals throughout the county-including the Rob Fleming Aquatic Center the day of the event. Come celebrate America’s birthday at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion for the annual Star-Spangled Salute on July 3. This free Independence Eve spectacular, which has been a tradition at The Pavilion for 23 years, features the Houston Symphony in a selection of patriotic favorites. Special guests at the concert are Will Makar and Lekisha Jones. The evening begins with free pre-concert activities for the whole family including patriotic characters, music, arts and crafts, souvenirs and more in the North Plaza starting at 6:30 p.m.
